Some impressions from our experiments in the research project “Network Performance Format” at Zurich University of the Arts. The project explored the specific qualities and defined principles and logics for a dislocated performance format. In this format, the performance takes place simultaneously at different locations interconnected through network technologies. This technological environment demands its own artistic practice dealing with specific phenomena (e.g. delay). These conditions indicate that network performance can be defined as an art discipline in its own right.
